Churches to saturate McAllen with gospel over spring break

MCALLEN—Teams of adults and students on spring break plan to get the gospel message to 50,000 households in the McAllen area of the Rio Grande Valley on spring break, March 12-16.

In cooperation with Southern Baptist churches in the area and the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention evangelism staff, volunteers will attempt to hang a bag on every door in the McAllen area. Each bag will contain a clear gospel presentation in English and Spanish, information on a nearby church, and a ticket to an April 1 Team Impact evangelism event at State Farm Arena in McAllen.

Jack Harris, SBTC associate for personal and event evangelism, said in addition to praying for a harvest of souls won to Christ, McAllen churches are hoping to plant two new churches from the effort.

Harris said about 12 churches have signed up to help, and more are needed. Each church may decide how many days it will participate, up to one week, he said.
